Sponsorship makes Nice Ride possible

Blue Cross Blue Sheild of Minnesota
Blue Cross is on a mission is to improve the health of all Minnesotans by making the healthy choice the easy choice. That's why Blue Cross is the lead sponsor of Nice Ride. Support for Nice Ride and many other community health initiatives is funded entirely with Blue Cross' settlement proceeds from its historic lawsuit against the tobacco companies. As part of Blue Cross' prevention efforts, Nice Ride Minnesota is one way the health company is working to tackle obesity and other costly diseases by addressing their root causes - one of which is physical inactivity.

Innovative solutions like Nice Ride make it convenient for people to maintain their health and prevent risks like high blood pressure and diabetes. Blue Cross wants to change the way people think about getting around by promoting physical activity and making it easy for people to make the active choice the easy choice. These small changes translate into positive habits over time.

Bike Walk Twin Cities (BWTC) is an all-out effort to increase biking and walking, and decrease driving in Minneapolis and surrounding communities. BWTC invests in innovative projects-including $1.75 million in start-up funds for Nice Ride-that make biking and walking the easy choice. We're also working with local governments to build more bike ways through the city and make crossing the street easier and safer. It's all part of creating a network for non-motorized transportation. Stay tuned in 2010 and 2011 as new projects open in neighborhoods across the Cities-from Rosedale to Richfield, St. Paul to Edina, at the U of M, and all over Minneapolis. Find out more at www.bikewalktwincities.org. Be Your Own Engine. BWTC administers a federal Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot program and is part of Transit for Livable Communities.

Become a Nice Ride Sponsor

Nice Ride depends on you:

In order to bike sharing possible, Nice Ride Minnesota relies upon community-minded companies and businesses to join as sponsors. Sponsorship means recognition for your company or business for its commitment to livable communities, active living, and preservation of our natural environment. Potential benefits of sponsorship include recognition on a kiosk, on our website, features in neighborhood maps and our quarterly e-newsletter. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Anne Haddad, at ahaddad@niceridemn.org.

Our founding sponsors support the mission of Nice Ride and are excited to help us launch the largest bike share system in America. Additional sponsors will allow Nice Ride to continue to expand and to grow. We are currently accepting sponsorships for the 2010 and the 2011 seasons.
