Good Wheel To All And To All A Good Bike

'Tis the season of giving, and we'd like you to help us give hundreds of free bikes to kids this holiday season.

This year FreeBikes4Kidz is expanding their program to the urban core. Nice Ride will be teaming up with Freewheel Bike and Allina Hospitals & Clinics to help give about 350 bikes to kids this holiday season. We'll need about 500 person hours to accomplish this year's goal at the Midtown Bike Center. Whether you have never pumped up a bike tire, or you're an experienced mechanic, we need your help.

Then as a bonus, you get to come and help kids pick out bikes and watch their eyes light up as they ride around.

We need three categories of staff:

  1. Wrenches - someone who knows their way around fixing a bike. Brakes, chains, gears, shifters, and the likes.
  2. Assistant Wrenches - check and replace tires and tubes, check pressures, final cleaning of bikes, etc.
  3. Hands - wash bikes with power washer, move them from place to place, minor support (Please Bring Towels).

From the FAQ

Am I required to wear a helmet?

While it's not required, Nice Ride recommends that everyone wear a helmet. Keep a helmet at work or in your locker. Freewheel Bike offers 20% off Trek helmets to all Nice Ride Subscribers (bring your Nice Ride key or a receipt from any Nice Ride station). Pick-up a helmet at Freewheel's West Bank store or the Freewheel Midtown Bike Center
