Sparking with Nice Ride

Use Nice Ride to get to the Northern Spark Festival, June 4-5. This unique adventure, modeled on a nuit blanche or "white night" festival, is a dusk to dawn participatory art event along the Mississippi and surrounding areas.

From sunset (8:55 pm) on June 4 to sunrise (5:28 am) on June 5, the Twin Cities will be alive with a diversity of art forms and projects. Enjoy the night air and avoid parking hassles by using Nice Ride to get around the Minneapolis Northern Spark locations. See everything from light sculptures and projections, to Mississippi boat rides, organs, lullabies, and a Glow-A-Bout human interaction game. For more information about locations and installations, visit http://northernspark.org/about/overview.html .

The first 20 people to visit the Nice Ride Central Ave Bridge station after 9 pm on June 4 can win a free 24-Hour Subscription. Come see the Writing with Light (Mpls Photo Center) exhibit at the same location and name the project Nice Ride helped sponsor. You’ll win a free 24-Hour Subscription and maybe pick up some free Nice Ride gear. Here's a hint: http://northernspark.org/projects/bicycle-synthesizer-ride.html?org=a . We'll be at the station until 11 pm, so come and see us!

Grab a bike at the Nice Ride Central Avenue Bridge and catch the opening ceremony (8:55 pm – 9:15 pm) at the Stone Arch Bridge http://northernspark.org/projects/for-dawn-or-dusk-homeward.html?org=a . There are many other Stone Arch installations, as well as many other exhibits at Minneapolis and St. Paul locations including Walker Art, MIA/MCAD, Loring Park, Intermedia Arts, Science Museum, Landmark Center and many more!
