Six more Nice Ride stations will be installed over the weekend. Two were placed on Friday night and should be coming on line Saturday. The remaining 4 will be placed on Saturday night.

We expect to have all six stations operational by sometime on Sunday. Follow the progress of the station installation on our map at niceridemn.org or watch Twitter for the hashtag #newniceride as each of these comes on line.

The new station locations are:

  • Marshall Avenue at Wilder Street near Izzy's ice cream shop
  • Fairview Avenue at the Merriam Park Library
  • Minnehaha Avenue near Hamline University
  • Grand Avenue near Macalester College (across from Patagonia)
  • Portland Avenue and Grant Street near Skyscape Condominiums
  • 6th Avenue SE between the Stone Arch Bridge and the the Dunn Bros on University Avenue

The station formerly at Territorial Road and Westgate Drive has been permanently moved because of an issue with the location permit on Territorial. The new location is just south of University Avenue at Curfew Street and Ellis Avenue

From the FAQ

Am I required to wear a helmet?

While it's not required, Nice Ride recommends that everyone wear a helmet. Keep a helmet at work or in your locker. Freewheel Bike offers 20% off Trek helmets to all Nice Ride Subscribers (bring your Nice Ride key or a receipt from any Nice Ride station). Pick-up a helmet at Freewheel's West Bank store or the Freewheel Midtown Bike Center
