Nice Ride Invades Downtown St. Paul!

Over the past several days, more than 25 Nice Ride stations have been installed in the downtown St. Paul area and are ready for use! From the Capitol Building to the Wellstone Center, Nice Ride can now make your trip across downtown fun and easy.

Where are the new stations – and what about all the downtown construction? In some circumstances, we were challenged to find a resting place for the stations that effectively dodged Light Rail construction. A number of the planned locations have shifted – some a few feet, some a few blocks. And, there are a few stations left to install, including several in Minneapolis. For the most up to date locations and status of the stations, check out the map. Remember, always follow bicycle safety rules and use caution when riding in construction zones.

Aren't the stations missing something? Each of the new stations is missing the map frame segment which usually holds a poster and a map of the Nice Ride stations in the surrounding area. These will be installed at a later date, but in the meantime, if you have a smart phone, you can always use the Spotcyle app to locate the stations closest to you.

Mayor Coleman and National Parks Superintendent Labovitz will join Nice Ride and other partners in a celebratory ride on Monday, June 4. The ride will depart Landmark Plaza at 2 pm, travel across Wabasha Bridge and end at Harriet Island. Anyone is welcome to join. Bring your own bike to join the ride, or meet us at Harriet Island. The more the merrier!

Special thanks to our sponsors and funding partners for making this expansion possible. Particularly the National Park Service, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, the Central Corridor Funders Collaborative, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

I am loving the St. Paul expansion! It is a great way to get around town, and one of the best things to happen to St. Paul lately. Thank you so much.

Do these new stations help one to connect to Mississippi National River and Recreation Area?
