GENERAL PURPOSE

To coordinate and promote the Nice Ride Bemidji Rental System.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with rental sites to provide bicycle rentals.
  • Ensure bikes are properly balanced between sites.
  • Lead social bike rides.
  • Provide basic bicycle safety and education to community/partners.
  • Represent Nice Ride Bemidji in a professional and positive manner.
  • Communicate and engage with the public to promote cycling.
  • Create/distribute promotional materials and activities.
  • Conduct necessary preparation and implementation of promotional events.
  • Effectively communicate with the Nice Ride Bemidji Board.
  • Prepare and submit routine written reports of activities and progress.
  • Perform bike maintenance duties on an occasional basis.
  • Perform related tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in positions requiring problem solving and coordination.

Demonstrated Skills and Abilities in the following areas:

  • Some technical knowledge of bicycles.
  • Understanding of bicycle advocacy.
  • Problem solving.
  • Advanced computer competency (MS Office, Google applications)
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
    Special Requirement
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Must possess a valid State driver's license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
    Preferred Qualification
  • League Cycling Instructor (LCI) Certification

Benefits

Compensation: $12-$15/hour - 20 to 30 hours per week – Seasonal through October.

Reimbursement for mileage for use of own vehicle

How long can I take a bike out?

Bike sharing is designed for short trips. Trips over 30 minutes will incur usage fees. You can take a bike out for a maximum of 24 hours. After that time, the bike will be considered lost and a replacement fee will be charged to your credit card.
