Last Day of Season - Sunday Nov 5th

Share   |  Posted Oct. 23, 2017 by Mitch Vars

The 2017 Nice Ride season will end at 10pm on Sunday November 5th.

Starting at 10pm on November 5th, all stations will be locked. Users will be able to return bikes to stations but new rentals will not be allowed. Please plan accordingly. Crews will begin removing equipment from the streets in the following days.

The Nice Ride season typically runs from the first week of April, through the first week of November, weather permitting. Many of our location permits require us to remove equipment from streets and sidewalks before significant snowfall occurs to accommodate plowing.

For up to the minute bike and station availability, we recommend you download our mobile app, Nice Ride Bike Share, available free from Apple iTunes and the Google Play Store.

If you have a Nice Ride key please hang on to it, you will continue to use the same key next year. Put it in a safe place so you'll be ready to ride when the bikes return in the spring. Yearly subscriptions last a full 365 days from the date of purchase. For example, if your membership began on August 1st, 2017, your key would continue to work until July 31, 2018.

We want to thank everyone who hopped on a bike and helped support Nice Ride throughout the 2017 season. Watch for our return in early April of 2018.

I am visiting soon after that and I was hoping to take a bike ride. (the weather isn't too bad yet, for pete's sake). I guess I will have to find a bike rental place that is reasonable.

Wow, early November?? I'm disappointed when Madison bCycle closes down in early/mid December (although they did have a successful limited winter pilot a couple years ago, with a small number of stations kept open December-March).

From the FAQ

How do I return a bike?

Push the front wheel of the bike firmly into the bike dock until the green light on the dock comes on. The green light indicates that the bike is locked and properly returned. If the red light on the bike dock stays on, remove the bike and try another empty bike dock. The bike remains your responsibility until it is properly returned.
