Get Ready

Nice Ride season is right around the corner. We're installing stations and getting everything ready for an early April launch. We'll turn the system on and start renting bikes before all the stations are installed. If you haven't already, download our free mobile app. It'll show you which stations are installed, and which are yet to come. You can also check the map on our website.

Locate your Nice Ride key so you'll be ready to ride. If you're an annual subscriber, your membership lasts a full year so if you signed up last June your key will remain active until June this year.  When it's time to renew you'll keep using the same key. Renewals are quick and easy, just log in to your account at Don't forget, you can also rent bikes using our app.

New Bikes

Big changes are in the works at Nice Ride. Later this summer we're planning to introduce new bikes and a whole new type of service. These new bikes will not require the stations that the current bikes use. This will allow us to expand our service to many more people in many more neighborhoods. We'll be adding locations all over Minneapolis where the new bikes will be available. The expanded system will be operated by Motivate, one of the most experienced bikeshare operators in the country.

Group Membership

Studies have shown people who ride bikes are the happiest and healthiest people on earth. Our Group Membership Program makes it easy for organizations to offer a Nice Ride memberships at a discount. It's a huge hit, so if your company isn't offering Nice Ride as a perk to employees let's connect to make it happen.

Thanks to Our Sponsor

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota has been our title sponsor since the beginning, and their commitment to healthy, active living has been an integral part of Nice Ride's success.

Thank you for supporting Nice Ride as we begin our 9th season of service in the Twin Cities.

Can’t wait!! The dog park is super muddy now that the snow is melting. Biking is the best way for the dog to get exercise!

From the FAQ

How do I return a bike?

Push the front wheel of the bike firmly into the bike dock until the green light on the dock comes on. The green light indicates that the bike is locked and properly returned. If the red light on the bike dock stays on, remove the bike and try another empty bike dock. The bike remains your responsibility until it is properly returned.
