New Stations Launching May 22nd

We are very excited to update you on the status of 24 new stations, that will be hitting the streets on May 22nd.  Our operations group has been assembling the stations as parts come in, and preparing them to go out for launch.  As previously stated, this expansion will bring the Nice Ride system up to 170 total stations across the Twin Cities, with over 1500 bicycles.  This expansion is a great addition to provide more healthy, fun and convenient activities around the rivers, lakes and parks within the Twin Cities.

A giant thank you to the National Park Service - Mississippi River Fund, Hennepin County, and of course Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota for making this expansion possible.

Will there be a new bike station installed near 29th & Johnson Street NE (Coffee Shop, two restaurants, retail shops, pharmacy, Fairview Clinic, NE Neighborhood Assoc., Audubon Park, etc) Very busy location with combo homeowner and rental properties. A lot of U of MN student and staff live in this area. Please let me know if this location is on this list for the new stations launching May 22, or please add to future lists.

Thank you!

From the FAQ

Am I required to wear a helmet?

While it's not required, Nice Ride recommends that everyone wear a helmet. Keep a helmet at work or in your locker. Freewheel Bike offers 20% off Trek helmets to all Nice Ride Subscribers (bring your Nice Ride key or a receipt from any Nice Ride station). Pick-up a helmet at Freewheel's West Bank store or the Freewheel Midtown Bike Center
