Nice Ride for Mobile Phones

A number of people have contacted us about mobile applications that can be used with the Nice Ride system. There are a few available now and hopefully more are on the way soon.

The applications that are currently available were all built for the Bixi system in Montreal, and have been adapted for use with Nice Ride.

Bixit
Available for iPhone

Spotcycle
Currently available for iPhone. Spotcycle is promising a new version, to be out in July, for Android and Blackberry.

Bixou

In addition to these, we're also planning a version of our Google map optimized for mobile use.

If you're a developer interested in building apps for use with Nice Ride, we'd love to hear from you. You can find our map XML feed here: http://secure.niceridemn.org/data2/bikeStations.xml

One word: Android. I understand you don't develope software, but maybe talk to the Bixi developers?

From the FAQ

How do I return a bike?

Push the front wheel of the bike firmly into the bike dock until the green light on the dock comes on. The green light indicates that the bike is locked and properly returned. If the red light on the bike dock stays on, remove the bike and try another empty bike dock. The bike remains your responsibility until it is properly returned.
