Nice Ride’s mighty service crew resolves docking issues!  Nice Ride bikes keep rolling!

Nice Ride launched its second season on Friday afternoon with some brand new station parts and some very eager riders.  Some riders may have wrestled with ornery bicycle docks that evening that made a particular grinding noise when locking.  Nice Ride's maintenance crews fanned out Saturday and fixed the problem in short order. 

User tip:  Don’t be afraid to show the bike who’s boss!  Nice Ride bikes are made of tough stuff.  To take a bike, wait for the green light, then pull firmly on the handle bars.  When you return a bike, push it into the dock firmly and continue pushing until the green light shines.

Firmly? I thought SOP was to just ride the bike into the dock at a good clip.

I've heard that grinding noise when trying to take a bike out - not put it back - it has occurred on a couple bikes at the 4th and Hennepin and 11th and Hennepin stations.

I usually have to try 2 or 3 bikes before I can take one out.

How long can I take a bike out?

Bike sharing is designed for short trips. Trips over 30 minutes will incur usage fees. You can take a bike out for a maximum of 24 hours. After that time, the bike will be considered lost and a replacement fee will be charged to your credit card.
