Show your support for the Twin Cities non-profit bike share system. Learn how you can get involved Saturday, March 24 at 10am.

Nice Ride Minnesota was a big idea that had a small possibility of happening. Between the fall of 2008 and spring of 2010, the persistence of a few gave way to the best bike sharing program in North America. Our first volunteers were local professionals motivated by the active living movement who donated their time and energy to make bike sharing happen in Minneapolis. They were soon joined by 300 more.

A key group of 25 volunteers organized sponsors, supporters, politicians, cyclists, and probably your mother into a mob of 300 that rode down Nicolet Mall on June 10, 2010 at our Kick Off event. This group announced that bike share had not only arrived in Minneapolis, but the United States.

Nice Ride volunteers of the past three years can only be described as dedicated, wonderful, and motivated to keep bike sharing an integral part of the Twin Cities culture. In 2012 we will highlight the season with slow races, the Nice Cream Bike, giving away Nice Ride Helmets, and expanding Nice Nites; a bike themed gathering happening on Thursdays in July. This year we also look forward into expansion into downtown St. Paul.

In 2012 we'd like to see our volunteer team expand too! Find out more about volunteering at Nice Ride at the Informational and Training Session on Saturday, March 24th at the Midtown Bike Center from 10am-12pm.
